Mike O’Connor first came to America in 1994,  having been the lead carpenter for several construction companies in various parts of Europe. He formed his own carpentry company in 1998, constructing large custom-built homes, but felt that his work was naturally progressing towards custom homebuilding.  Mike said himself that “as a carpenter, you need to have an understanding of how all the other trades work and ensure that the house is constructed according to plan and be aware of potential problems.”  Having extensive knowledge  and a strong passion for making high-quality, tailor-made homes, he formed Misty Harbor Builders, Inc. in 1999.
